About this site
In June 2000 I started blogging at peteashton.com and 10 years later in June 2010 I decided to stop. Blogging here, that is. I started a clean slate over on I Am Pete Ashton and maintain all manner of other web presences which are all listed here along with my contact details.
You probably came here via a Google search or from following a link on some old blog post somewhere. I hope what you find is useful in some way, though do check the publication date - it might be rather old now.
Thanks for your eyeballs.

Why is the idea of online friendships still treated with such disdain?
Why is the idea of online friendships still treated with such disdain? – asks Anna Pickard. I've been seeing a rise in two kinda of articles lately. Hysterical nonsense about how social Internet stuff is boring and wasteful and evidence-backed … Continue reading

Wimp.com – "Only the best videos from around the Internet." Annoyingly no embed codes or links to places where one might get an embed code but considering the quality on display that's not really a bit problem. via Torrez

'War on terror' was a mistake, says Miliband – Proof, if it was needed, that the results of US presidential elections has a direct impact on UK government policy.
Pete Ashton is the UK’s Worst Blogger
Pete Ashton is the UK’s Worst Blogger – Highly amusing report by Ewan Spence on my successful campaign to come last in the Weblog Awards. I was rather proud of this so it's good to see it on record.
