i'm afraid i'm still too used to wetherspoon's, so paying more than even £2 for a pint sticks in the throat unless i'm in a particularly fine setting...

Purity Ale is the new Tiger Beer, it seems. Along with Barefoot Wines who really are at bloody everything.

I must say I was very disappointed to discover Pure Ubu was named after their dog rather than the band, although that might just be a marketing spin on a rather niche reference.

Also: while we all assumed "Pure Ubu" is some sort of reference to "Pere Ubu", I am beginning to suspect that it may be some sort of joke about the sheer bleedin' ubiquity of Purity ales nowadays. You can't seem to avoid tripping over them in Brum nowadays.

I do periodically fret about the fact that it doesn't trouble me tooooo much to pay £3 for a pint nowadays.

Things go up in price, though. It happens. I have to remind myself of this.
