There Are No Others, There Is Only Us

There Are No Others, There Is Only Us is a rather nice installation currently running at Moor St Station in Birmingham. It’s part of the Supersonic Festival, so already it chimes with me, but I want to blog about it because it’s not immediately obvious that it’s there.

Here’s the entrance:

This is opposite the entrance to the platforms and usually has a load of “Birmingham’s great!” nonsense over it. If you go through the door you enter a dark cinema-style room with beanbags where this is playing:

(Shot on my phone so forgive the shake / bad sound)

The main piece is a nine minute film by Marc Silver with music by Ben Frost, which you can hear above, but while that’s really nice what excites me more are the alternative soundtracks by Andrew Moscardo-Parker (of Einstellung), Stuart Tonge, Simon Fox, Matt Snowden and Sam Underwood, some of the finer soundscapey musicians from the city.

So if you’re at Moor St with 10 or so minutes to spare this weekend, pop in for a rather nice experience.
