This Saturday I’m performing on the 4Talent stage as part of Gigbeth. With this in mind I figured I’d better build my instruments. As you’ll know if you’ve been following this saga I received a couple of Thingamakits a month or so ago. It’s supposed to look like this:
Having put all the bits together and made sure it worked (it worked!) I started drilling the metal box which would enclose it all but my drilling skills suck with every hole either a little or a lot off. Slightly dejected I took a break and spotted an ice-cream tub I’d been using as a biscuit box. Hmm.
An hour later I had this:
It still needs decorating and personalising but you get the general idea. Now I just need to learn how to play it (it’s a completely different operation to the Thingamagoop) in time for Saturday.
Erk.
Genius. It’s like Thingamagoop’s pet.
Lovely stuff.
I hope the gig goes well. I’m sad that I won’t be there.
