This is the personal blog and main internet hub-thing for Pete Ashton. What you'll find here is a seemingly random collection of stuff I want to talk about and share. If you want to know where I'm coming from you'd do worse that check the about page.

Program shows CIA behind Wikipedia entries. Um, no it doesn’t. it shows people using CIA internet connections have been making edits to Wikipedia entries. That’s slightly different. And they’re not necessarily pushing the CIA agenda. I’d imagine the CIA tries to employ intelligent and intellectually curious people and a fair number of geeks, which is pretty much the perfect profile for a Wikipedia editor. Of course, the edits by the Labout Party are just wrong and evil… via Edface

Thought much the same myself. Although the bit about someone at the CIA editing the article on “singer Richard Marx” made me wonder if they’d been meaning to subvert the worldview of Karl and missed. Maybe Groucho and co. got similar treatment.
That’s why I went to look at the listing for Scientology-sourced edits. I mean, it must take someone with a very scheming mind to edit the page about resources on Non-Drug Solutions for Postpartum Depression for nefarious purposes.
Yeah, but the actions of Scientology bods is not really news. If they weren’t fucking with Wikipedia I’d be astonished!
