Well, given the amount of time it took to write this it would only be fair to invoice them for a couple of quid.

And yes it was. Why, have you seen it in print?

Ooh, was it for a certain regional airport magazine by any chance? You should definitely charge for your services, being a well-loved local media big-shot 'n' all! ;-)

Blogger hates Jez so he emailed me his comment:

You said "vibrant community". Yep, tosser.

I'd be amazed if it gets printed without first adding one or two
enormous untruths. The Virgin trains magazine runs little features on
the mainline destinations. Every time it does Birmingham it gets
something wildly and hopelessly wrong. Recently, for example, it
suggested going for a swim at Moseley Road Baths. Not a bad plan I
grant you, I do it myself at least twice a week. However it described
the wonders of swimming in the main gala pool, which sadly has been
closed these last two years.

I could only account for it by assuming these pieces were being written
by a bloke in London with a cup of tea in one hand and an outdated guide
book in the other. Must be one of the classier airlines if they get
people who actually live in the destination in question.
