"You Are a Knife" by Veto (guitar)
"Violet Furs" by The Whigs (guitar)
"House of Sin" by ZZZ (guitar)

Of these, I think two tracks are outstanding:
"Last Kiss" by T.D. Lind and "You Are a Knife" by Veto

Got any recommendations from the 2006 torrent yourself Pete?

nice one, I too haven't completely worked through the 2006 collection yet, although I have discovered quite a few gems in there so far. will try and remember to post my faves from 2006 here or on my blog.

i use the rating system on my ipod and i've found it really useful for things like this. i've set up a playlist for 'unrated' tunes, so when i'm in the mood for listening to new music (which is most of the time!) i listen to that and try and make sure i rate everything that i hear and when i'm the mood for my tried and tested faves i listen to my top rated. stuff that i've rated one usually gets deleted from my collection completely, a two gets removed from my ipod but remains in my itunes just in case, a three is for stuff that i'm not sure about but might be growers and four/five for my faves obviously.

anyways i'm rambling, must start posting some music rambles on my own blog!
