I have seen the future – and it’s goth. I link to this mildly amusing article about how grown-up goths can be found in all manner of respectable positions in society like masons partly because the same applies to comics nerds but also because of this line: “I’ve got goth friends who are doing quite well. There’s a dentist in Lyon, a couple of solicitors, a Church of England priest.” I think I met that priest at a party in London. It’s a small world, and I’m not even a goth.
