This make-your-own-media game is pretty easy really, if a little time consuming. A couple of years back this would have been revolutionary but armed with iMovie and the Google image search any fool can put together a slice of mildly amusing AV in about five hours.
I present, then, pepper.mov (7.8mb), a video to accompany the song Pepper by The Butthole Surfers.
All stills were taken from Google image searches for that word and movies were either memes-de-jour that I’d saved over the years or taken with my (relatively) crappy digicam. The last minute or so got a bit desperate (no lyrics!) so apologies if it drags. That said, if you’ve never seen a guy voluntarily being fired at with fireworks you might find it interesting.
This has been done before (notably here) and it’s nothing new. It’s just a proof of concept – I can do this sort of crap as well as anyone.
Now to think of something useful to do with my “skills”.

Cewl! Like the some of the photos associated to the verse lyrics. The ending works, due to the ‘other people’s eyes’ line. Love the guy with the oriental weapon fetish and who is that mad man with the fireworks.Great to see that the interent can be used to upload meaningful stuff like a guy having fireworks fired in his face. Yes, I can heartily recommend other songs by the Butthole Surfers. They can be a little “out there” but a good start is the Electriclarryland album on which this song appears. See above for Amazon links. I particularly rate track 10 “The Lord Is A Monkey” which I opened my third podcast with.

Oh Christ, it was a website where a bunch of guys did stunts like skidding down escalators in Woks and the like. I can’t for the life of me remember the name of it though and the original clip for the fireworks thing has gone missing…

Yo, I’ve been staying up all night writing a paper for my philosophy class (read: dicking around online), and, to procrastinate, I figured I’d google Pepper, and your site was the first one on google! It’s not bad, a bit unimaginative about the interpretation pf lyrics, but eh. . What else are you going to do with obscure lyrics on the weekend?
