ColdRice does it again – three quality bands on one bill for £3 in. On a Saturday. In central Birmingham. I cannot recommend this night highly enough.

The Monsters were on first. Know nothing about them but they were good.
Second up were Yumi Yumi, to be honest my main reason for going tonight, and they certainly delivered. Yes, cute Japanese punk-pop in essence but actually so much more. Album out Sept 22nd and I think I’ll be buying it.
They’re back at ColdRice on the 11th Sept (along with the very interesting looking Polysics, also of Japan) so if you’re intrigued I’m seriously thinking of a return trip…
Finally, the headlining act, The Priscillas. Amazonian goddesses of rock who’ll eat you alive.
To reiterate, ColdRice, every Saturday, £3 in (for gigs, free for DJs), 10pm – 2am, Bar Academy (upstairs), Dale End, Birmingham. I’m going to try and make it monthly from now on so if you’re interested I’ll be more than willing to accompany.
