It’s not often you’ll find me linking to a geocities fan site, but denislawsonobsession makes me smile, mainly because Dennis Lawson (who, of couse, played Wedge in all three Star Wars films) is the father of Jamie, a good friend of mine, and I’ve never known someone who’s dad has a fan site devoted (literally, devoted!) to them. Happy to say Lalla, who runs it, seems fairly sane. At least as sane as the rest of us. Anyway, those who know him, check out these photos of Jamie as a kid in Celebrity Knitting magazine! I mean, I know someone who was in Celebrity Knitting! How cool is that!

About this site
In June 2000 I started blogging at peteashton.com and 10 years later in June 2010 I decided to stop. Blogging here, that is. I started a clean slate over on I Am Pete Ashton and maintain all manner of other web presences which are all listed here along with my contact details.
You probably came here via a Google search or from following a link on some old blog post somewhere. I hope what you find is useful in some way, though do check the publication date - it might be rather old now.
Thanks for your eyeballs.
Pete Ashton
Wedge is the unsung hero of the rebellion! :)
I would like to know if Dennis is appearing in Holby city again
Gary
I love Dennis’s acting, and wish I could see more of it! I’ve seen the “Star Wars” films like…uh, can’t remember how many times, and I saw his role as Captain Foster in “Horatio Hornblower: The Fire Ships”. I’ve not seen “Local Hero” yet, but can anyone recommend another (recent?)(good?) film that he is in?
Wedge Antilles is seriously more of a hero to me than Luke SKywalker, and that fact isn’t hard to realise if one reads his exploits in the Rogue Squadron books n comics(of course behind that character is Dennis Lawson’s face) so ill always hold him up there with the greatest and most important people the Rebellion had the good fortune of ever coming across
I used to work with Dennis on Holby City – he’s such a lovely man!!! Pete please say hello to him from me. I was but a mere runner but we had a lot of fun on set.
Cheers,
Orla

I only met him once and that was just to say hello when he met Jamie after work about 18 months ago. So I’m not much help there then…
I have never met Dennis, but if I did I would find it very difficult not to call him “Wedge” or “Rogue Leader.” He is without a doubt the finest rebel in all of the Star Wars saga, with more courage than any of the main charchters in my opinion. Is it correct that he is Ewan Macgregor’s uncle? or is that just bantha droppings?
The legacy that Dennis now holds with his Wedge persona is huge. Without a doubt his character has grown into the most loved and diverse character in the star wars universe. What made his deeds all the more amazing is that this character had no special powers or anything he was just good. And his role on hornblower was a pleasant surprise as well
Cheers!
Can we all send out our sincere and heartfelt thoughts and sympathies for Dennis, who has recently lost his wife.
I thought Denis’ performance as John Jarndyce was exceptional. It would thrill me to have some contact with this actor as I have so many questions to ask him. Anne
