Some photos

Twelve photos taken over the last week.

Weird poster in Borough Market – looks like "No Hats" or something

This struck me as odd as I was walking to work in the rain. A coffee table, plant, and bits of furniture dumped right by the crossing next to the "Precious Blood Church" sign.

This is a display case in the Cabinet War Rooms with a load of guns in it, and a photo of Churchill with a tommy gun, which was used by the Nazis to prove he was a gangster.

Me, asleep.

A church on Bishopsgate which is undergoing a rather intense refurbishment, probably into a bar or something.

Kath’s back garden has weird things in it.

This has not been altered at all. Taken with a flash on a white tablecloth, it’s a blue glass ashtray.

Another great photo of Michael.

A lamp in the Union Club on Greek Street.

Firemen on strike. Every other vehicle that went past tooted support to them. It was just like the good old days! (not that I remember them…)

Lovely picture of Heather. Really pleased with this one.

This was altered – it’s a photo of the Gherkin tower taken from Lime Street by the Lloyds building. Taken at night without a flash I wacked the levels to extreme brightness and was very pleased with the result.

Although it is the artist and not his tools that creates art, the new camera is providing a much better platform for you to record what you are seeing. And it shows in this latest photo spread. The best is the portrait of Heather – her hands and eyes make the portrait “come alive”.

    Keep it up! Dad

I find every photo you take of Heather mesmerising. She strikes me in some strange way. If you ever introduce us I will no doubt act in an entirely unnatural way, and make an utter fool of myself.

The ash tray would make a great t-shirt.

Okay, I give. Did you have an assistant take the photo of you sleeping, or are you doing something clever? (Incidentally, you look like a corpse.)

Okay, I’ll own up. I was staying over on Kath’s floor and was too tired to read so I was messing with the camera taking shots of my face from strange angles, but because the flash was on I kept my eyes shut. They all looked like I was asleep, which was interesting. Maybe because I was lying down and tired, I dunno.

    Jez, Dad,

Heather does have the certain something. I wonder if I could persuade her to do a ‘shoot’ (as they say) sometime…

As for that shot, I just got the camera out, said, “new toy!”, pointed at her and clicked.
