On the wind down from the CSS marathon, I thought I’d have a look at mt-rssfeed plugin from tima for Movable Type. I was expecting it to baffle and bemuse me but figured, what the hell. Low and behold, I cut and pasted the code into a template and, boom, it worked. First time.
So, for the third time today, a new thing on the site: Pete’s Portal
While it’s pretty rough and ready at the moment, I’m mainly using it to store RSS feeds as I stumble across them. One of the first things that occured to me when I got enthusiatic about syndication was, what is anyone actually doing with all these feeds floating about? I know about the Haddock Blogs but that appeared to be put together with some coding skill, hence a barrier to entry for someone like me.
This plugin is pretty keen for a novice and does allow for a lot of customisation so it’ll be fun to play around with. I’m hoping that as more and more blogs get RSS feeds, and as more and more novices like myself start playing around with manipulating those feeds, we’ll… well, I’m not sure what will happen but I’m sure it’ll be interesting!
